Adventures and Advancements

The completion of adventures is how the scouting goals of character, citizenship, leadership and personal fitness are developed. The program is structured to provide consistent programming nationwide. Here is a breakdown of what you need to know!

In Scouting, we will not compromise the safety of our youth, volunteers, and employees. Safety is a value that must be taught and reinforced at every opportunity. We are all responsible and must hold each other accountable to provide a safe environment for all participants. We are committed to injury and illness prevention by integrating safety measures in our handbooks, literature, and training materials, including the Guide to Safe Scouting. 

Cub Scouts are

A Special Needs Friendly Pack

Defined by Scouting America, a Special Needs Friendly (SNF) pack accommodates scouts with special needs more than traditional units. All scouts receive the regular program features of Scouting for their age level. The special needs in the unit usually lean toward “hidden” or “invisible” special needs, such as dyslexia/dysgraphia, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), autism, and expressive/receptive communication delays, though this varies by pack. Support gets built into our everyday operating methods, but the experience strongly resembles traditional Scouting. For example, the pack may tone down the pack meetings or provide a calming area to address sensory needs or anxiety.

Leave No Trace

Instilling values in young people and preparing them to make moral and ethical choices throughout their lifetime is the mission of Scouting America. Leave No Trace helps reinforce that mission, and reminds us to respect the rights of other users of the outdoors as well as future generations. Appreciation for our natural environment and a knowledge of the interrelationships of nature bolster our respect and reverence toward the environment and nature. Leave No Trace is an awareness and an attitude rather than a set of rules. It applies in your backyard or local park as much as in the backcountry. We should all practice Leave No Trace in our thinking and actions–wherever we go.

AOLs - Fifth Grade

In fifth grade, we are becoming self-sufficient.

AOLs focus on mastering the transition from Cub Scouting into a youth-led Scouts BSA troop. Under the Arrow of Light curriculum, they form independent patrols, visit local troops, and practice self-sufficiency through outdoor camping. Their required adventures emphasize advanced first aid, progress tracking for personal fitness, and service project planning.

Webelos - Fourth Grade

In fourth grade, we are discovering how we connect to our community.

Webelos focus on developing leadership, advanced outdoor capabilities, and personal autonomy as they begin transitioning toward the youth-led structure of a Scouts BSA troop. Through six required adventures, they independently plan a two-mile hike, demonstrate basic wilderness first aid, and track fitness milestones. Their curriculum also emphasizes advanced digital safety, public community service projects, and civic duties while strengthening family and spiritual bonds.

Bears - Third Grade

In third grade, we understand how to apply the scouting principles.

Bear Scouts must complete six core adventures that build character, physical fitness, personal safety, and citizenship. Through hands-on activities like a one-mile hike and community service, scouts master the Cub Scout Six Essentials, practice Leave No Trace principles, and learn team cooperation. Additionally, the curriculum strengthens family bonds, promotes digital and personal safety, and encourages reverence by respecting diverse community beliefs.

Wolves - Second Grade

In second grade, we become good citizens. 

Wolves develop new skills and interests, practice sportsmanship and good citizenship, and learn to do their best. They also have more outdoor activities, learn basic outdoor skills, personal safety, and teamwork. Wolves focus on developing personal independence, outdoor literacy, and teamwork.

Tigers - First Grade

In first grade, we are learning and gaining confidence.

Tiger scouts learn by doing! Tigers learn the basics of teamwork, outdoor exploration, and personal health alongside an adult partner. Through Cub Scouting, tigers discover the joy of learning new skills, exploring the outdoors, helping others, and growing in character all while having a great time with friends and family.

Lions - Kindergarten

In Kindergarten, we are learning how the world works.

We’re all about encouraging girls and boys to make friends, be helpful to others, and do their very best no matter the outcome. With the help of powerful learning projects and exciting outdoor activities, we aim to teach children that doing their best can be a fun and rewarding experience—no matter the difficulty of the challenge.

Welcome to Pack 206 in Lawrenceville!

Pack 206 was established in 2024, but our roots go much deeper. Originally founded in 1949 as Pack 28, we were the oldest, continually active pack in the area. We switched our chartered organization in 2024 to the Presbyterian Church of Lawrenceville on Main Street (Route 206). Our pack is open to girls and boys grades K - 5. Our dens meet twice a month on Tuesday nights (with one exception - 4th grade currently meets on Thursdays). We have 1-2 pack events a month that are typically scheduled for Tuesdays or weekends. We offer year-round programming, and a focus on community, service, teamwork, and adventure. We are inclusive/special needs friendly, and currently have scouts participating from both Lawrence and the greater Lawrence area, including Ewing, Pennington, Hopewell, and Princeton.
